Number of sessions
The number of sessions needed varies based on the severity of skin aging/sagging, individual skin conditions and desired results. Usually, 3–5 sessions spaced 2-4 weeks apart is recommended.
Downtime
Minimal downtime. After treatment, most clients experience mild redness that subsides within a few hours.
Some may feel a dry sensation temporarily for a few days as the skin begins its normal renewal process.
Unlike more invasive procedures, there’s no need to take days off work or limit activities. Clients are usually free to return to their normal routines immediately after their treatment.
During treatment
You may experience a prickling sensation, but the comfort level can be easily adjusted to suit your personal preference by modifying the treatment settings.
After treatment
Apply a cold pack for a few minutes as often as possible on the day of treatment. Ensure you apply sunscreen properly.
Starting the day of treatment, you may wash your face, shower and also resume outdoor activities, provided you wear sunscreen. You may apply makeup 1–2 days after the treatment.
FAQs
How does it work?
K-Scar creates controlled micro-injuries while simultaneously releasing energy deep into the dermis. This “double action” breaks up tough scar tissue and forces the skin to produce new, organized collagen to smooth the surface.
How long does it take to see results?
It also depends on the types/age of the scar. The most significant scar improvement appears after a few months as the new collagen matures and fills in the scarred areas.
How long is the session time?
The session time is approximately 20 minutes excluding any applicable topical numbing time.
What to avoid before the treatment?
Clients are asked to COMPLETELY REMOVE makeup/sunscreen/moisturizer/lotion/essence/serum etc. before each clinic visit.
What are the do's and don'ts after the treatment?
Do’s
Apply a cold pack for a few minutes as often as possible on the day of treatment.
Apply a physical sunscreen (Zinc Dioxide or Titanium Dioxide) properly during the treatment period.
Use a gentle cleanser and lukewarm water.
Don’ts
Avoid any cosmetics containing alcohol, Tretinoin (Retin-A), Retinol, AHAs, BHAs or Vitamin C for 1–3 days.
But, the specific post-laser care instructions depend on the skin issues, subtypes, and laser settings used. So, please follow the specific post-laser care instructions provided after each session in the clinic.
