What is the difference between getting a laser treatment by a medispa non-dermatologist laser technician versus a board-certified dermatologist?

Canadian or South Korean board-certified dermatologists have a deep understanding of laser-tissue interaction (clinicopathological correlation) tailored to complex skin types and diagnoses.

Canadian or South Korean board-certified dermatologists can significantly lower the risk of inadvertently lasering over precancerous or cancerous lesions.

Firing a pigment laser at an undiagnosed skin cancer removes the surface pigment without destroying the deeper malignancy, delaying vital diagnosis and allowing the cancer to spread undetected.

Canadian or South Korean board-certified dermatologists don't solely rely on manufacturer's standard presets to markedly minimize the risk of burns or post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation (PIH) in Asian or darker skin tones.

Treating pigmentation with inaccurate laser settings will trigger a severe rebound flare. A South Korean board-certified dermatologist completed a 4-year dermatology residency training to assess the depth and nature of the pigment or vascularity before selecting the appropriate parameter.
