The number of sessions needed varies based on the depth and types of acne scars, individual skin conditions and desired results. Usually, 3-5 sessions are recommended, spaced 2-4 weeks apart.
Downtime
Minimal downtime. After treatment, most clients experience mild redness that subsides within a few hours.
Some may feel a dry sensation temporarily for a few days as the skin begins its normal renewal process.
Unlike more invasive procedures, there’s no need to take days off work or limit activities. Clients are usually free to return to their normal routines immediately after their treatment.
During treatment
You may experience a prickling sensation, but the comfort level can be easily adjusted to suit your personal preference by modifying the treatment settings.
After treatment
Apply a cold pack for a few minutes as often as possible on the day of treatment. Ensure you apply sunscreen properly.
Starting the day of treatment, you may wash your face, shower and also resume outdoor activities, provided you wear sunscreen. You may apply makeup 1–2 days after the treatment.
FAQs
How does it work?
By using this technology to create micro-injuries to acne scars, this treatment fills up acne scars with newly generated skin tissue by stimulating synthesis of new skin cells.
Thermal Collagen Denaturation: The energy heats the dermis, causing old collagen fibers to contract and stimulating the production of new, organized collagen and elastin.
Fractional Technology: Because the energy is delivered “fractionally,” surrounding healthy tissue stays intact, which accelerates the healing process and reduces downtime.
Mechanical Breaking of Scar Tissue: K-Acne Scar helps break up the tough, fibrous bands that pull the skin down and create the “pitted” look of acne scars.
